Position Summary
Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is a trusted partner of federal health agencies. We currently have openings for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The work will be on-site at the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System in Palo Alto, CA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • The Nursing Assistant shall cover the range of services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding current national standards.
  • Nursing Assistant shall be responsible for interfacing with patients, Physicians, Nursing staff, other VA staff employees and patient family members. 
  • Implement the plan of care demonstrating knowledge of the responsibilities of the Nursing Assistant for all stages of care.
  • Work in partnership with the health care team in implementing standards of care in accordance with the purpose, philosophy and objectives of nursing.
  • Responsible for care and use of equipment used.
  • Provide family and patient teaching.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL’s), including feeding, grooming, bathing, dressing, toileting, etc.
  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers and discharges including escorting using stretcher, wheelchair or other mobility device as needed.
  • Delivers safe, basic physical and emotional care to patients and/or residents with simple to complex needs.
  • Adhere to all VA policies, procedures and professional standards of care.
  • Nursing Assistant shall follow all established patient safety and infection control standards of care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and VA policies.
  • Document care accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Attend staff meetings as required by the VA facility Chief of Service, Nursing Executive, or designee.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant training course.
  • Active / Unrestricted CNA license in the state of California.
  • Active BLS Card
  • Proven ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship.
  • Ability to obtain public trust.

The posted salary range represents PFS's good-faith estimate for this role. Actual compensation offered will be determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate's education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience; internal equity; geographic location; and contract and organizational requirements. PFS is committed to fair, consistent, and equitable compensation practices across the organization, and offers are calibrated to maintain internal pay equity while remaining competitive in the external market.

SCA Salary Range: $22.32 / Hour + $5.09 H&W
