Job Summary:
Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is a trusted partner of federal health agencies. You will work closely with and support Federal agency clients. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Analyst with deep expertise in healthcare data analytics, medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), SQL, and business intelligence tools. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Veterans Health Administration (VHA) data, exceptional client-facing communication skills, and the ability to prepare comprehensive documentation and strategic reports. This role requires advanced proficiency in Power BI and Pyramid Analytics and a thorough understanding of healthcare claims data, clinical data structures, and analytics. Additionally, experience with PowerApps, Power Automate, and Office 365 is highly desirable.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and interpret complex healthcare data, including claims and clinical datasets, to provide strategic insights.
  • Develop and optimize advanced SQL queries and stored procedures to extract and manipulate large healthcare datasets. Hands-on coding skills are a must.
  • Utilize Power BI and Pyramid Analytics to create advanced dashboards, reports, and visualizations for executive decision-making.
  • Leverage PowerApps and Power Automate to streamline workflows and automate data processes within Office 365 environments.
  • Provide expert analysis on medical coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS, ensuring accurate data categorization and utilization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop data-driven strategies for operational improvements and cost efficiencies.
  • Prepare detailed documentation, including data dictionaries, white papers, and strategic recommendations for business and technical audiences.
  • Lead efforts in data governance, quality assurance, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to best practices in healthcare data analytics and reporting.
Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience working with healthcare data, including VHA datasets
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/ SQL for querying, managing, and optimizing large datasets
  • Extensive experience with medical coding systems, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
  • Expertise in business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Pyramid Analytics
  • Experience with PowerApps and Power Automate for workflow automation and data integration
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare thorough documentation and strategic recommendations
  • Experience with data governance, compliance, and healthcare data privacy regulations
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship indefinity
  • Ability to obtain public trust
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Prior experience leading analytics projects in VHA or federal healthcare systems
  • Experience in developing and executing data-driven strategies within healthcare organizations
  • Proficiency in Office 365 tools and environments for data management and collaboration
