Solution Architect / Business Intelligence Engineer
Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is a trusted partner of federal health agencies. We are seeking a Solution Architect / BI Engineer with strong UI/UX capabilities to lead the design and delivery of intuitive, data-driven solutions that support healthcare decision-making. This role sits at the intersection of business, design, and technology—working directly with executive stakeholders to understand needs, shape solution approaches, and translate complex healthcare data into clear, actionable dashboards and applications. The ideal candidate is both client-facing and hands-on, with the ability to design user experiences, architect data solutions, and build high-quality analytics products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a primary interface between client stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into scalable data and analytics solutions.
- Facilitate client workshops, requirements sessions, and design reviews to refine solutions and ensure alignment.
- Translate complex analytical outputs into clear narratives, insights, and recommendations for executive audiences.
- Lead solution design across the full stack—from data ingestion and modeling to front-end visualization and user experience.
- Architect and guide data models and semantic layers that support performance, flexibility, and long-term scalability.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and developers to ensure seamless integration of data pipelines and analytics products.
- Design and develop Power BI dashboards and applications that are intuitive, visually compelling, and aligned to executive decision-making needs.
- Apply UI/UX best practices to ensure dashboards and tools are user-friendly, accessible, and actionable.
- Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design concepts and iterate with stakeholders.
- Establish and promote best practices for data visualization, dashboard design, and analytics product development.
- Support deployment, user adoption, and continuous improvement of delivered solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (e.g., Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Human-Centered Design).
- 5–8 years of experience in solution design, business intelligence, analytics, or related roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, data modeling, and DAX.
- Demonstrated experience in UI/UX design, including wireframing, layout design, and user-centered design principles.
- Experience working directly with clients or executive stakeholders, including leading meetings, gathering requirements, and presenting solutions.
- Strong understanding of data architecture and data modeling concepts, including semantic layers and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with data transformation and pipeline concepts (ETL/ELT).
- Experience bridging technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex data into clear insights.
- Familiarity with healthcare data, health informatics, or performance management/reporting frameworks is a plus.
- Experience with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, or similar) is a plus.
- PMP, Agile, or relevant certifications are a plus but not required.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship.
- Ability to obtain a public trust
- Preferred experience supporting federal agencies, particularly within healthcare (e.g., VA, VHA, or similar environments).
