Position Summary
Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is a trusted partner of federal health agencies, seeking a Data Engineering to join our team and support our clients. This role requires deep expertise in SQL Server development, ETL/data integration, and Power Platform solutions to deliver secure, scalable, and automated business applications. The incumbent will design and optimize data pipelines, warehouses, and models, develop Canvas Power Apps and Power Automate workflows, and integrate with SharePoint Online and Dataverse to enable advanced reporting and analytics. The ideal incumbent combines strong technical proficiency with a collaborative mindset to translate business requirements into innovative, high-performing solutions across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
SQL Server & Data Engineering
  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server schemas to support transactional, operational, and analytical workloads
  • Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions to support Power Apps, Power Automate, and reporting needs
  • Implement data quality, validation, and auditing controls within SQL Server environments
  • Support secure connectivity between Power Platform and SQL Server using gateways and best practices
ETL/Data Integration
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources (files, APIs, SharePoint, Dataverse, external partners)
  • Leverage tools such as Power Automate, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Azure Data Factory, or equivalent for data movement and transformation
  • Implement incremental loads, change detection, error handling, and reconciliation logic
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to ensure data pipelines support reporting and dashboard requirements
Data Warehousing & Analytics Enablement
  • Support the design of the data warehouse and data mart structure (fact and dimension tables) to enable reporting and analytics
  • Implement best practices for slowly changing dimensions (SCDs), surrogate keys, and historical tracking
  • Partner with BI teams to ensure optimized data models for downstream tools such as Power BI
Power Apps Development & Design
  • Lead full lifecycle Canvas Power Apps development, requirements gathering, prototyping, build, testing, and deployment
  • Design reusable component libraries and implement robust business logic using formulas and component frameworks
  • Optimize app performance, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness
Power Automate & Workflow Automation
  • Architect and build advanced Power Automate flows to automate approvals, notifications, and data orchestration
  • Implement error handling, logging, and retry policies for mission-critical workflows
  • Integrate flows with Dataverse, SharePoint, Teams, Dynamics 365, and third-party APIs
SharePoint Integration
  • Configure SharePoint Online lists and libraries as data sources for Power Apps and flows
  • Implement basic list formatting, view customizations, and permission inheritance to support the automated process
Dataverse & Data Management
  • Model entities, relationships, and security roles in Microsoft Dataverse to underpin apps and flows
  • Develop data validation rules, business process flows, and Power Pages portals as needed
Stakeholder Collaboration & Training
  • Partner with business SMEs to translate requirements into technical designs and user stories
  • Develop training materials, deliver workshops, and provide ongoing support
Governance & Best Practices
  • Define environment strategies, solution packaging (ALM), connectors governance, and data loss prevention (DLP) policies
  • Enforce naming conventions, version control, and release pipelines using Azure DevOps or Git
Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current with Power Platform and Microsoft 365 innovations
  • Recommend and implement best practices to improve maintainability, security, and user adoption
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Three (3) + years of experience working with SQL Server, including T-SQL development and performance optimization
  • Two (2) + years of experience designing or supporting ETL/data integration pipelines.
  • Five (5) + years of hands-on experience in Canvas Power Apps development
  • Five (5) + years of experience in designing and building Power Automate flows, including approvals and error handling
  • Two (2) + years of experience in configuring SharePoint Online lists/libraries for integration with Power Platform
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (facts, dimensions, historical tracking)
  • Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with SQL Server and enterprise data sources
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dataverse modeling, security, ALM, and DLP frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
  • Ability to obtain a public trust
Preferred Qualification
  • Microsoft Certified in PL-100, PL-200 and PL-400
  • One (1) year of direct VA/VHA project experience within a Government Community Cloud (GCC)
  • Experience building component libraries and custom connectors
  • Familiarity with Power Pages, AI Builder, or Virtual Agents
