Graphic Designer
Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is a trusted partner of federal health agencies. We are exploring the addition of an experienced Graphic Designer with a minimum of five years of professional design experience to develop high-quality visual communications across digital, print, presentation, web, and video platforms. The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented designer who can translate complex information into clear, engaging, and accessible visual products while working within established brand guidelines and project requirements.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Design and produce visual materials for a variety of formats, including reports, presentations, infographics, fact sheets, social media graphics, web assets, signage, and other communications products.
- Develop creative concepts, layouts, templates, and production-ready files that align with client branding, messaging, and accessibility requirements.
- Create and support video-related products, including motion graphics, title cards, lower thirds, visual storyboards, basic video editing assets, and graphics optimized for multimedia use.
- Collaborate with writers, project managers, communications specialists, videographers, photographers, and subject matter experts to deliver polished, audience-focused products.
- Prepare documents, presentations, PDFs, and digital products to meet Section 508 accessibility requirements, including appropriate reading order, alternative text, color contrast, heading structure, and accessible formatting.
- Review and remediate visual and digital materials for accessibility, usability, consistency, and quality prior to delivery.
- Manage multiple design assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines, incorporating feedback, and maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Maintain organized source files, templates, brand assets, and final deliverables for efficient reuse and version control.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Digital Media, Fine Arts, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of professional graphic design experience in an agency, corporate communications, marketing, public sector, or similar environment.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in layout, typography, visual hierarchy, branding, information design, and production across print and digital channels.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat; experience with Premiere Pro, After Effects, or comparable video/motion tools strongly desired.
- Experience designing and formatting Microsoft PowerPoint and Word documents for professional, executive, or client-facing audiences.
- Working knowledge of Section 508 compliance and digital accessibility best practices for documents, presentations, PDFs, images, and multimedia products.
- Ability to create accessible design solutions that consider color contrast, readability, alternative text, captions/transcripts, and inclusive user experience.
- Excellent communication, organization, time management, and file management skills.
- Ability to interpret feedback, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and deliver high-quality products under tight timelines.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust
- Prior experience supporting federal government clients.
- Experience developing communications products for health care, public affairs, public information, training, outreach, or mission-driven programs.
- Familiarity with federal branding, plain language, public sector review processes, and accessibility standards.
- Experience creating graphics for video, social media, web campaigns, virtual events, training materials, or executive briefings.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, digital media, fine arts, marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
