508 Compliance Specialist
Position Summary
Prometheus Federal Services (PFS), a trusted partner to federal health agencies. We anticipate a future need for a Section 508 Compliance Specialist to join our team. This full-time role supports contracts across the Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal clients, ensuring digital accessibility and compliance with Section 508 standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support and execute Section 508 compliance activities across multiple federal projects.
- Provide 508 compliance remediation and white glove support on technical documentation (e.g., Interface Control Documents).
- Conduct accessibility audits and testing for websites, portals, and digital platforms using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Section 508, advising internal teams and clients on accessibility strategies, best practices, and technical solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including project managers, designers, and developers—to ensure accessibility is embedded throughout the product lifecycle.
- Monitor evolving federal accessibility regulations and industry trends to inform internal processes and client recommendations.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and working groups to present accessibility strategies and ensure alignment with client expectations.
- Provide training and guidance to delivery teams on accessibility tools, standards, and remediation techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Graphic Design, Communications, Information Technology).
- Section 508 Compliance certification.
- 3–5 years of experience in accessibility compliance, preferably within a federal consulting or government contracting environment.
- Strong knowledge of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and WCAG standards.
- Proficiency with accessibility testing tools (e.g., JAWS, CommonLook, ANDI).
- Skilled in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship indefinitely
- Ability to obtain a public trust clearance if required
Preferred Qualifications
- DHS Section 508 Certified Trusted Tester preferred

The work location is flexible if the company approves it, except that the position may not be performed remotely from Colorado.
